Deciding to attend a Pivot Point Legacy Partner School is smart thinking. A Pivot Point education stands apart from all the others because of the Pivot Point Difference. It means that we teach you the 'why', not just the 'how'. Soon you will be a designer-in-training who is learning how to think, see and create like a professional.
Only the best educators teach at our facility and work with curriculums that build tomorrow's successful designers. Our educators will train and guide you as you apply your knowledge and techniques on premium-hair mannequins and clinic clients in a salon-like environment. You will soon discover that learning at a Pivot Point Legacy Partner School makes sense because we teach from simple methods to complex methods in an easy-to-understand way.
The demand for personal grooming, nail care and spa services only keeps growing. As the demand grows the educational value of your Pivot Point Training will also grow.
Students are able to apply for federal financial aid. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

Transfer of Credit Policies
Incoming students who have hours that they are transferring to our program are required to provide, prior to enrollment, an official transcript from their previous school. The maximum number of hours the Oehrlein School of Cosmetology accepts is 375 hours. Grades for theory requirements will be applied if the student is transferring from a Pivot Point Member/Partner School or Pivot Point Academy. Students who wish to transfer out of our program will receive an official transcript after all monetary obligations are met, withdrawal paperwork is complete and exit counseling requirements are met.
Discrimination is against the law. The Oehrlein School of Cosmetology does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, age, color, ethnic origin, religion or gender identification in our admittance, instruction graduation policies or any other activities which occur at the School. This practice and requirement of non-discrimination also extends to employment by the School and the administration of students in programs or activities operated by the school.
State Authorization Disclosure
Cosmetology and Cosmetology Teacher licensing laws and requirements vary by state, as do reciprocity (a type of transfer means that another state will allow you to work under the license of your current state) and transfer (when a state other than your home state of licensure allows you to perform cosmetology services legally) regulations, renewal schedules, fees and continuing education requirements. State Authorization is a formal determination by a higher education agency (commonly a higher education board or commission) that allows an institution to conduct certain activities within its borders. The Cosmetology Program and the Cosmetology Teacher Program offered at the Oehrlein School of Cosmetology has Illinois State Authorization. If you plan to work in a State outside Illinois borders, you may have to meet additional requirements to be licensed in other states. If you plan to transfer your Illinois Cosmetology License to another state, we recommend you contact the licensing agency in that state.
